My New Favorite Video!

First Christmas

The holidays have sadly come to an end...We had great fun enjoying them with Kamran & family this year.

We spent the Christmas holiday at Nana & Nani's place in Lynchburg this year. Nani & Nana were thrilled to have Kamran spend his first Christmas at their place.

The grandparents and Bhami Masi and Rob Masa had so much fun playing with the little guy and getting to know what he's like these days....

While opening presents, Kamran loved looking at all the colorful wrapping paper - and trying to eat it! We didn't even have to take his toys out of their boxes - he had just as much fun playing with the box!

And while in Lynchburg, we had a chance to meet Kamran's new buddy, John, who was also in town visiting his grandparents. His mom, Cathy, and I are old friends from high school. We're so glad we had a chance to meet up while we were all town.

After returning from the holidays in Lynchburg, we celebrated Christmas with Ami Fui and Chris Fua. Lucky Kamran - he got to celebrate Christmas twice in one week!

Happy Birthday Brady!

Daddy finally dug us out of the house on Sunday morning after some 16-17 inches of snowfall - the largest December snowfall in DC history! We attended Brady's 2nd birthday party in the afternoon. Unfortunately Kamran was in a mood and didn't want to be very social. But it was great to see all the kids together in one place!

But Kamran and I did get a chance to take a quick picture before we left....

And the birthday boy just before blowing out his candles...

Happy Birthday Brady!

Cabin Fever

Daddy and Kamran caught a bit of cabin fever over the weekend during all the snowfall. They found all sorts of ways to amuse themselves - who would have thought a balloon (Video #1) and singing some crazy tunes (Video #2) could be so entertaining!?!

But Kamran couldn't figure out why the next picture which was taken right outside of our house kept Mommy and Daddy so amused (keep in mind the closest grocery store is 1 mile away!)...

We Will Miss You Suneet (Fua)....

Late last week we were saddened by the tragic news that Mehul's cousin suddenly passed away. Suneet's life was unfairly cut short and we will miss him dearly. He was like a brother to Mehul and we wish Kamran would have had more time to get to know him. He was a wonderful father to his two boys. Mehul and I always admired his dedication and relationship with his children.

We know that Suneet Fua will always be out there looking after our little Kamran....

Here is a picture of Suneet Fua and Ashmi Fui when they first met Kamran earlier in the summer.

Weekends Bring Fun Times!

Kamran told Mommy and Daddy that it had been a while since he hung out with his buddy Rayan so we invited The Patels over on Saturday evening. We were to shocked to see that Rayan is not so little anymore - he's getting to be such a big boy! Kamran can't wait to do all the fun things that Rayan can do like crawl and pull himself up.

Later in the weekend while Daddy had to go into work, Kamran watched Mommy wrap presents....

and later decided he had enough of that!

and told Mommy she was on her own.

So we packed it up and decided to head over to Bhami Masi and Rob Masa's place. Kamran also got to meet Uncle Sammy while we were there.

He hung out with the boys and watched some football ....

hung out with the ladies, had some dinner, and played with another furry friend!

SNOW!

Kamran's 6 month birthday also marked the first snow of the season! He didn't stay out for long, but Kamran did get to enjoy the snow for a few minutes. He wasn't a big fan of the snow falling in his face but Daddy and Kam indulged Mommy for a photo op.

Later Saturday, Mommy & Daddy attended a friend's wedding while Ms. Kim (one of Kam's daycare teachers) babysat the little guy. This was the first time we had someone besides family watch Kamran. We were a bit nervous but the little guy did just fine!

Unfortunately the fun was cut short on Sunday when we had to take the little guy to Urgent Care. We knew something was off because Kamran was very fussy and crying BIG tears during the morning hours :-( Daddy was convinced it was an ear infection and that was the official diagnosis by the doctor as well. As a side note, Daddy is now saying he should consider a second career in medicine! Fortunately the process of going to Urgent Care was pretty painless and once Kamran got a dose of Motrin and a good nap in, he was nearly back to normal and cracking smiles again. He even got a housecall visit from his Bhami Masi & Rob Masa!

Little Helper

Christmas is my all time favorite holiday of the year. I love the added time with family & friends, decorations, holiday commercials, holiday movies, wrapping presents, baking...I could go on! So this year makes it all the more special since it's our first with Kamran.

To mark Kamran's first holiday, he got to hang his very own ornament (with some assistance) on the tree. I'm looking forward to him being my little helper with the other ornaments when he gets older.

And a new stocking to add to the mantle...

Every night we play next to the Christmas tree and he loves it! In fact if we put him anywhere near it he wants to grab at anything he can get his hands on - the lights, branches, and ornaments!

Make A Wish!

Kamran & Daddy joined the fun and helped Mommy make a wish for her birthday!

Looks like Kamran is eyeing cake instead of his bottle....dessert before dinner - wonder who he gets that from!

And while Daddy took Mommy out for a nice dinner, Ami Fui came over to babysit her favorite nephew.

Mommy was even more spoiled later in the week when her two favorite guys (well Kamran supervised) not only cooked a delicious dinner but also breakfast over the weekend! I wish it was my birthday every day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Thanksgiving festivites started early in the week with a delicious dinner made by Chris Fua!

Than we set off for Nani and Nani's place in L'burg on Thursday to celebrate. Unfortunately Kamran didn't stay awake to join us as we enjoyed all the yummy food Nani made. But he's looking forward to tasting her fabulous meals once he's old enough! Mommy and Daddy were thankful for the those few extra hours of sleep in the morning while the grandies enjoyed quality time with Kamran.

The weekend included a trip to see some of the holiday decorations AND a visit with Santa!

Kamran borrowed Daddy's phone to place a call to Santa asking him to save a spot for him since he's been such a good boy this year!

We tried to get it out of him, but Kamran wouldn't reveal his holiday wish list. For Santa's ears only ;-)

And finally, some adorable shots of Kamran under Nana & Nani's Xmas tree

A Night Away (for Mommy) and Lots More!

In early November, Mommy spent her first night away from Kamran for a work related event. That meant Daddy flew solo and had his very own first night alone with Kamran. Much to Mommy's relief the house was still standing when she returned! ;-) To help Mommy get through those two days away Daddy and the teachers at daycare sent lots of pictures to my phone to keep me going.

A few days later, Kam spent Saturday with his Dadi and Ami Fui while Mommy and Daddy went to the VT/MD football game.

And on Sunday we visited with Uncle Basil, Auntie Soma, Kadyn, and his newest buddy, Devan, the next day!

As for other developments during the few weeks, Kamran has started sleeping through the night. It took me a while to take this step. We used to give Kam his last bottle of the night at 11pm to "top him off" as Daddy says. That used to be my feeding (while Daddy takes the morning feeding). I miss the extra cuddle time, especially since Kamran doesn't seem to want to sit still these days.

Kamran also started baby purees at the beginning of the month. We decided to start him on yellow foods first....squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes (just in time for Thanksgiving!). Introducing these first few purees should take him through the month. He seems to be enjoying them so far! We will probably move him to the green purees next. Can't wait to see how he reacts to those!

A Quiet Fall Weekend

In addition to enjoying the gorgeous weekend weather, we met up with The Woodcocks for brunch. A meal with 3 toddlers and an infant proved to be interesting! The Woodcocks have twins and a toddler all under the age of 4. They sure made it look easy! In between entertaining all the kids we had a good time catching up and enjoying some yummy food!

On a completely separate note, I'll part with a glimpse that Mommy has increasingly become more scared about.....Talk about looking into the future!
