Just Hanging Out

This weekend we had a few friends drop by to visit with Kamran. Friday evening Auntie Kavitha & Uncle Praveen came over. It was close to Kamran's bedtime so we weren't sure what kind of mood he would be in. But baby whisperer Uncle Praveen kept him entertained long enough so they could hang out. Kamran couldn't get enough of grabbing Uncle Praveen's face as you can see in the picture below.

On Sunday, The Costa family came by to meet Kamran for the first time. Antonio had fun tossing the (plush) football with Mehul. For those that recall, Daddy was obsessed with naming Kamran "Antonio" while he was in utero. This is the little dude that inspired it all!

Meanwhile, Antonio's older sister, Alexa, spent more of her time around Kamran. She was so adorable around him. Very gentle and loving towards the little guy. Kamran returned the favor by sporting his "Chick Magnet" onsie special for Alexa! Daddy likes to boast (and scare our friends with daughters!) that "Kamran is into older women!". Mommy isn't quite sure what to make of that yet! The Costas were sure to file that one away for future reference! ;-)

In other developments over the past week, we learned that Kamran will all of sudden begin sucking his thumb while sleeping. Mommy also used to do this as a baby.

We also noticed that he can *kind of* sit up on his own. He does this thing where he places his hands on the floor or uses a toy for support.

Kam has also been flipping over on his stomach. He has done it quite a few times this week after getting home in the evening. Of course I can never seem to get it on video!

But I was able to get this video of Daddy being silly with the little guy. He got Kamran to laugh long enough for Mommy to capture it on video. I love this clip!

A Weekend Away!

This past weekend we made a trip down to NC to visit The Groves. We had a wonderful weekend together and enjoyed reintroducing the boys since they last met on 4th of July. The boys have changed a lot since then!

Kamran did well on the car ride down and back. But he was a lot fussier than his usual self over the wkd which made for an interesting night on Saturday. Probably a combination of change of schedule, new place, and we think most of all some congestion he has developed (which he appears to have caught from the petri dish we like to call daycare).

Kieran was nice enough to share all his toys and his very own crib with Kamran. We felt right at home and it certainly made packing much easier!

Here are all the boys starting off their Saturday morning with Game Day...

Is this a stare down match?

No way - we're buddies!

Kieran showing Kamran how to use the exersaucer once he's big enough

And finally a nap after enjoying a delicious lunch out!

We're looking forward to another playdate weekend soon!

4 months!

Kamran's four month birthday arrived the same day as his first day of daycare. This is one my favorite outfits on him. He had his 4 month wellness checkup on Wednesday (10/7). The visit was complete with three more vaccinations. Kam did great! We were expecting some fussiness but he was a happy kid the remainder of the day. I hope all of his vaccines go this way!

Stats:
*~11lbs
*23.5 inches

We have started Kamran on rice cereal too. The little guy needs some meat on his bones (or something close enough to it!). He was initially more intrigued with the bowl and spoon but doing much better with the feedings now.

Since I often mention how much Kamran "talks" I thought I would include a video this time. The video is Kamran first thing in the morning after his morning bottle. He will usually go on for about 30 minutes happily talking to himself and playing in the crib. This time I decided to sneak up behind him and take some video (I have to sneak up behind him otherwise he gets distracted by the camera.).

Back to Work!

Well the day finally had to come at some point....After taking 4 months of maternity leave Mommy returned to work on October 1st. The sinking feeling started a few days before the "big day" and only got worse. The best way I can describe it was the jitters you get before your first day of school - but worse because there wasn't much to look forward to! ;-) All in all the transition went fine. Fortunately Nana & Nani were passing through town at the same time so we decided to have them watch Kam my first few days back to work to help us ease into our new routine. After forcing myself to leave that morning because I knew I was only making it worse by prolonging the goodbyes, I did ok. This was the longest I have been away from Kamran. It was hard to leave him and I missed him very much. I was very excited to see him when I came back home that evening!

Kamran started daycare full time the following Monday on October 5th. Daddy came with us for Kam's first day for some added emotional support - more so for Mommy than anyone else! ;-) So far Kamran has been doing well in daycare. He seems to really like his teachers and has adapted to his surroundings without any major problems. His daycare is right next to Mommy's work - just one parking lot over. It's nice to have him close by for many reasons, but most especially on those days when I have free moment and can stop by for a quick visit!
